This monoecious member of the Cucurbitaceae family was given this name by Charles Jeffrey in 1962. It is found in Egypt, Yemen, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. It will get one meter annual stems.
The genera name from Greek kedrostis, 'white Bryony', the ancient name of a scrambling cucurbit. The species name is the Arab name for the species.

Take care do not expose the caudex in full sun.

Soil : not too rich but mainly well drained. You can use a mix of pumice with your habitual potting soil
