Whitesloanea crassa is an unusual small succulent plant. It is formed by a compact 4-sided stem and remains solitary most of the time.

The cubic shape of wild specimens is very peculiar, but cultivated plants are often taller with an elongated stem.
Rare and only member of the genus, it has been considered as a plant relic but is now well reproduced.
