It consists of a large, somewhat hemispherical, above-ground caudex, reaching 90 cm on a taproot, the fat base is topped by eccentrically arranged non-climbing stems. These stems are grey-green, succulent, and without spines, making it look like a hedgehog or an oddly shaped rock covered with sparse brush.

Exposure : bright and sunny.
Take care do not expose the caudex in full sun.
Temperature : minimum of 10°c (summer growth)
Soil : not too rich but mainly well drained. You can use a mix of pumice with your habitual potting soil
winter resting with loose of leaves in autumn
