Small, bulbous geophyte plant, 8 to 25 cm high, from a tuberous root. During the winter growing season, it produces a tuft of coiled, thin leaves. The flowers, held in a loose or dense raceme, are yellow to light orange, with reflexed tepals and fluffy yellow stamens.
