PACK OF 5 SEEDS (HARVEST 2022). Can take more than 1 year to germinate
Cephalopentandra ecirrhosa is a very unusual perennial, deciduous, trailing herb to 1 m hight than develops with age a nice thick conical rootstock looking like a volcano with lava running down it, or a mountain shaped candle with melting wax coming down. The species epithet "ecirrhosa" means "without tendrils". It produces yellow flowers and very showy orange-red fruit. The Cephalopentandra is a popular caudiciform that becomes dormant in intense heat and cold.

Our seeds are guaranteed collected the year of the sale.
We give no guarantees about their germination or the purity of the seeds we buy.

Culture:
Exposure: bright and sunny 12°C minimum
Soil: not too rich but mostly well drained.
Seed:
Sow in autumn or in spring, in terrine covered with a plate of glass. Keep the substrate slightly moist and aerate regularly. Keep at more than 20°c. Be careful the fungi appreciate these confined temperatures so it will be necessary to watch out for them not to grow. A seed treatment before sowing can be considered as well as once the seeding is done. Big seeds (Adansonia, Delonix..) need warm water treatment before sowing
Keep hot with good lighting (add artificial light as needed)
Our seeds are freshly harvested and often tested, some species can have a long and difficult germination and even, sometimes, they can germinate after a year. A 100% germination rate is exceptional and is only valid for a few varieties
